    so I’m pretty goddamn happy right now. it’s been a great week, albeit ridiculously busy, as is wont to happen. I was working on an abstract for my independent study earlier this week, due Wed, and I think it went pretty well. I’m intrigued by what I’m studying — the character of Herakles in Apollonios Rhodios’ Argonautika and how his depiction differs from that of the tragedians. I’ve got a shit-ton of literature checked out of the library, and articles ordered, so it’ll be a huge process of sifting, synthesis, and birthing new ideas. (more…)

    And we’re on the threshold of February. it’s been a long week — that is, since last week. I’m in the midst of a sore throat, intermittent cough and runny nose right now, and may Asklepios have mercy on me and heal me — by Apollo! I made it through the longest day of the week, which happens to be Monday; I purposely front-loaded my schedule so the rest of the week would be much easier. (more…)
