the first week of school has ended, and I’ve won through to the end unscathed, happily enough. Busy week, teaching three days a week as in the spring, and so far it’s gone quite well. Just wish my bloody financial aid would come in, but soon enough. Crossing my fingers for next week. (more…)
back to school tomorrow, teaching again, and looking forward to it. Also, thank the gods above and below, I passed my German exam; I found out on Friday that I’d passed. Three exams down, three to go, plus a paper which will lead into my dissertation eventually. Quite happy to hear it, and glad to be done with it. (more…)
it’s the eve of my German PhD exam, and here’s hoping it goes well. I’m pretty confident, especially having a dictionary, that I’ll be able to figure it out, but still, test jitters are present. I also don’t particularly want to go to sleep all that early tonight, but I have to wake up at probably 7 or 7:30 to be able to get up on time and get to campus at 9am. Ideally, if all goes well, I’ll have Friday off this week, though, a last vestige of Summer as it cedes to Autumn. (more…)
so August is here, like that uninvited guest who arrives super early and leaves all too late, but I’m actually looking forward to school starting, if only for the money that flows down like nectar from above. Nah, though, school will be great to get back to, especially teaching and all of that; I’m excited to have a new crop of students. (more…)
