what a week, what a long week indeed. thankfully it’s over, the weekend is in full swing, but i’m still tired. and now I’m up at 00.30 writing this, and listening to some lovely music to boot. sleep, when it comes, will be wonderful. all the move is sorted; Nicole and Jenn were awesome enough to load the truck up and it’s well on its way to Florida. Nicole’s on her way out here on Wednesday night, so I’ll be picking her up in Orlando and taking her back here to our flat. Things have turned out quite well. (more…)

I arrived in Florida last Saturday morning. it’s been a week of ups and downs and catastrophic chaos mixed with alacrity and fun. a lot of new things. it felt like my dad and I were in the air for ages. we were pretty much awake from Friday morning until Saturday night, and sleep schedules got all out of whack as a result, as you can imagine. my time up north is winding down; only a few more days. surprisingly I’ve gotten to spend a lot of time with friends and family, which has been nice. I’m trying to stay optimistic but not complacent about the search for flats in Florida, and as far as I know things are going well with it — I’ve got about four or five appointments for Saturday, which should be great. found some more apartments here and there, made some more calls. things are slowly coming together. it’s all a process, all a cycle, and things revolve and begin again. occasionally the record skips. I’m sitting downstairs as I write this and listening to my iPod; I’ve not listened to music very often since I’ve been here, surprisingly. (more…)

well, it’s been a long time now… and a lot has happened. Plans fell through, even second contingency plans, hell, even third. But I’m still here, and the first came without the world ending. Nicole and I ultimately decided to put everything in storage, and I’d go north to Oregon while she went south to stay with her mom for a couple of weeks before we go out to Florida. (more…)
