I’m moving in a little over a week, to Florida. I’m a little calmer about things these days, since we’ve overall sorted the logistics of the move, and instead of a house (= lots of stress, money involved in buying one) we’re getting a flat. Cheaper and leaves options open. I’ve been working off the rest of the hours for which I’d been prepaid, slowly but surely. (more…)
I’m very aware that summer’s more than half over, and it’s frightening how fast it’s gone. I suppose my time in Oregon took a good chunk of it, nearly 3 weeks there, but still. The no-time I entered after fall semester hasn’t ceased, nor has the growing feeling of ennui it brought with itself, nor has the shame and disappointment at not having a job disappeared. Sorting out how I’m going to make the move to Florida has also taken an emotional toll, on both Nicole and myself, since she’s going with me. I haven’t mentioned that before, but that’s because it wasn’t a sure thing before. (more…)
