it’s not been a long week by any means, but the last couple days have taken a toll on me, for whatever it’s worth. i guess my sleep schedule gets mixed up on my days off, then I go back and it’s destroyed for a couple of days, then goes back to normal and all is well. but these things happen and life goes on. hey, it gets me to bed earlier on work nights, I suppose. just been quite busy over the last couple of days at work, and tired when I get home. it’s quiet tonight, now that I’ve taken my headphones off and all I can hear is the hum of the computer, not as loud as it normally is. generally when I sleep these days I turn off the computer, though, and then there is dead silence. near-pitch blackness and dead silence, a sensory deprivation chamber if there ever was one, although it is quite nice if you ask me. I collect my thoughts and dispel them into the aether, and concentrate on the aether at the same time. the stars are fixed in my head, fixed against the stark black of the cosmos, and mountains rise up in the distance from a long, empty, glassy plain. that image is quite difficult to hold for extended periods, but I find it helps me empty my mind before I sleep. i shall fall into sleep soon, amid terrifying, deep, dark dreams, perhaps. i’m rather tired and it’s 01.00 now, ish, and I’ve had a good day. Woke up at 10.00, did a shitload of laundry for a couple of hours (everything except the clothes I was wearing), then chilled for awhile, hung out with Nicole until Brandi came and picked me up around 18.00. so we’re almost at the end of July, its embers. i seem to write at these pivotal points, I guess. it’s been a longish week, even though I was only working Tues/Wed/Thurs, which coincidentally will be my schedule for the next month or so (yay for four-day weekends, for sure). i’m rather tired, but I’m not working tomorrow so I can sleep in a bit, except for the fact that I’m doing a shitload of laundry tomorrow morning (joy). the weekend is upon us again, and where did the time go? i don’t quite understand it myself. i’m exhausted and it’s almost 3am though on Thursday now, and I’m not going into work until 13.00. i’d better sleep, but I just wanted to let you all know I’m not dead. I’ve not had much time to write as of late, or at least not taken the time, but I miss it and I’d like to get back to it soon. I’ve been having money problems as is my wont during the summer, though, and been focusing on such things. the thesis looms as well. I need to sit down for some quality time with Quintus, that’s for sure.
the fog is rolling in again, and I hope it stays for awhile. that’s my kind of summer.

i’ve not written in awhile, and I guess I’ve been too busy to write, or focused on other things at least. I hate not having any money; it makes the summer months harder, and certainly limits what I do in my free time in some ways. but I’ve retreated inside myself recently, and found relative solace. it’s been an interesting week, I must say. Jenn’s been out of town, and hence Nicole’s been dogsitting for her, so I’ve had the place to myself since Sunday night. (more…)
