about to go to archaeology class in about 30. as I said, it will be a busy week, but good. can’t wait for Lost on Wednesday (as well as Rome on Nicole’s DVR from Sunday), and yeah… it’s been a good day today as well. managed to get my homework done (pretty much) for archaeology, and homework done (and well) for Latin. we read an article about how Vergil utilises Homer in the Aeneid. it was fantastic, and a couple lines in there suggested and screamed “M.A. thesis,” but we’ll see how that goes (hint: Lucretius and Vergil and maybe Homer in the mix as well).
i’d better go soon, but just thought I’d say something. and by the way… you rule, Claude. thanks for staying hilarious all these years and being a good friend. peace to everyone else. going back to the cusp of BC and AD soon.

Nicole and I had our 1-year anniversary yesterday, and it was fantastic. we have shared so much throughout this year — it feels like we’ve been together far longer than that. i’m happy i have her, and i feel very blessed. much of the weekend we just spent being together and enjoying one another’s company; we even went to see Breach last night, which just came out Friday. and of course, dinner at The Stinking Rose (gloriously garlic-drenched, although the raw garlic gave me some heartburn) — we’d both been waiting to go there for awhile, just for the right occasion. sadly, I can’t write much at the time, nor can I for awhile. this is going to be a busy week — I’m teaching Tues-Fri instead of my normal Tues/Thurs schedule, since Dr. Kelly is going to be out of town.
otherwise, things are pretty great, although Sundays always get me down as of late — the afterglow of the weekend, I suppose, and the advent of moribund Monday. I shall fight and win through to the end — ἐκνικήσω, rather — and away will fall another week’s days from the calendar. Nicole and I will have next weekend to ourselves, too, since Krista’s going out of town, so that’ll be cool. in any case, I’d better get some dinner and keep working on homework. where to get dinner, though, if at all…
φιλέω, καὶ φιλήσω ἐς τὸ πᾶν χρόνου, ὦ ἐμὴ Νικολάη φιλτάτη, δῆτα ἐς αἰεί· καὶ εἰ γὰρ τοῦτο γνοίης. it has been the best anniversary ever, and many more are to come.

so Sunday is dying and we are on the threshold of the week and Monday. I can’t say I have ended up spending my time all that well tonight; I’ve neglected my schoolwork for the most part. I am going to need to get used to the idea of this archaeology seminar and fast, because we have a lot of reading in it that needs to be done. I’m looking forward most to the idea of sleep tonight, however. it’s been a weird weekend, with highs and lows just like every sequence of days, though. (more…)
