the apocalyptic afterglow

it’s always depressing after the holidays; the afterglow is blindingly gloomy. writing this with gelid fingers (this always happens here, since it’s cold down in my room), i’ve not much to say right now, since I ought to be sleeping soon. tired a bit… it’s been a weird day, although i’ve not been awake long. I got fucking ripped off on that Star Wars Trilogy I got conned into buying today by false advertising, but otherwise things were good. I’m too tired to write about much on here. the highlight of my day came just now actually — Jenn had gotten her pictures developed at Walmart and gotten a picture CD of them, and she just sent me all of them! I will post them in my next entry for sure. I’m going to Medford tomorrow (well, this) morning to see my baby cousins Max and Audrey (7 and 4 now, I believe, respectively), as well as Tom and Anne. I haven’t really seen them since the start of August, so it’s been awhile. that’ll be nice, but it kinda sucks I’ll be gone for two days — Allison wanted to hang out either tomorrow or Wednesday, since she’s going home to Portland on Thursday. oh well — I’ll see her sometime while I’m here. I know I’ma go crazy if I can’t.
yeah… I actually don’t have much to say right now. if i launch into anything, I’ll have to go through it all, and I don’t have time to do so now. actually… let me tell you what I got with the $240 Christmas money I got (I still have about $110 left):
- Star Wars Trilogy (this I mistakenly thought was of the original movies; I can’t return it now since it was opened. fuck. gave it to Anna. put me $40 in the hole)
- American Pie “3-Movie Pie Pack” – all three movies for $16 at BEST BUY!!! i couldn’t believe they were so motherfucking cheap. I’ve been wanting these forever.
- The Virgin Suicides ($11 or so) — I’ve heard such great things about this movie. AIR did the beautiful soundtrack for it, and thus I heard the movie was great too. At such a low price, I can’t go too wrong, and hey, everyone else said it was great.
- Team America: World Police (uncensored/unrated; $22?) — fucking hysterical. I rented this awhile back, and somehow I fell asleep for part of it — not cos of the movie but due to tiredness, and I watched it tonight with Anna. she died laughing at “America (FUCK YEAH!)”
- Ernest Goes to Camp ($7) — one of the funniest movies ever. me and Anna used to watch this all the time as kids, and we laughed our motherfucking asses off.
- Ernest Scared Stupid ($7) — same. hysterical.
in addition to these fine films, I got two shirts at Hot Topic (I know, it’s a gay emo place to go, oh well) — this and this. The first is the poster for a movie from the 60s called Blood Feast, and Jenn had seen it there last week and thought I’d like it. she actually showed me it today at Valley River, and the 2nd one is the poster for Dawn of the Dead, which I am a huge fan of as well. fucking A. I will talk all about everything later though… right now I need to get some sleep. much love, and I’ll see you all on the flipside. pZ.
