Yes, I’m back among the living after a long time in Hades. (cf. this [frozen in time from this epoch, saved from the fires of oblivion on 07 Nov 2005])
Anyways… I saw Kill Bill Vol. 1 this weekend, and it fucking rules. My new favourite Tarantino movie… The soundtrack was so fucking ill that I bought that right after watching the movie. Who cares if it cost me $20 at FYE? Shit is priceless. Produced by the RZA (who generally sucks at rapping, and isn’t much better at producing), I thought it was going to suck, but I was proven wrong. The soundtrack is stellar, consisting of a mix of kung-fu and Western-style music, and it blew my mind hearing the first song, Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang,” playing while Uma Thurman takes a bullet to the head. One of my favourites on the album was called Fight Without Honor or Humanity, by some Japanese guy (I can’t remember the name off of the top of my head)… that track was incredible, ill instrumentation with a fucking ill drum track, and it was the music playing while Lucy Liu and co. are shown in a slo-mo Reservoir Dogs-esque walk towards the camera… anyways, buy the soundtrack if you liked the movie, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. When the DVD drops I am certainly buying it…. fuck yes I am.
Oh yeah — I’m getting my iPod today, provided I get my student loan check, and then I need to go over and get my processor for my computer, since it should be in today by the time I get out of class. Today’s like motherfucking Christmas. Who gives a shit that it’s a Monday? Musical and aural glory will be mine!
    Vale for now…

Well, it’s been a long time since I posted on here. It’s now the beginning of school (well the end of the second week) and I’ve had a good time so far. Hasn’t been too bad, although the homework is not what I’m used to. Oh well… I’ll have to get used to being a junior. So how are you all, Devoted Readers? My computer’s defunct right now (my processor blew out) and I’m waiting for a new processor to arrive, hopefully by Monday. I’ve spent $149 on it so far, and I hope I don’t have to spend any more money. My loan check should be coming on Monday, and I’ll buy my iPod with that then (YEAH!), and I’m getting my final check later today from UO Bookstore, which should be at least $200 or $300 in my pocket. So yeah… Money has been of the essence lately, and it’s unfortunate, but such is life.
It’s Friday, and I shouldn’t complain… it’s a beautiful day and I’m sitting in the bottom of Grayson (or McKenzie now) Hall typing away on one of the X terminals… gotta love them — no one bothers you on there, and you can do whatever you want really. The computer labs aren’t as friendly in that respect. I can play games on here though all the time if I want to. I’ve played Tetris a few times on here, and I kicked some major ass. Greek is going well, and scary as it is, I’m almost liking it more than Latin… I guess it’s just the newness of it… but both are fun, and I’m really glad I became a Classics major instead of just Latin, because I would have been missing out on Greek! It’s easier than Latin in some ways, at least more helpful in pointing out constructions and such, and that I am glad about.
Well anyways, I will write something later on here perhaps, but for now, I’m out… missing my MP3s and forced to listen to my CDs… poor me… :-P but yeah…. word… i’ll catch ya all later! peace… and i hope you will enjoy this renaissance of mine on here.

These days my entries have been more fractured and less focused. Such is life. I do what I can to give a glimpse into my life, a snapshot if possible. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

talk to me if you'd like to know something about me, or keep reading. I'm still a poor grad student and working on my PhD. I don't really know whether this will become a book anymore, but it's not wholly improbable.
